Time is of the Essence…

I don’t have time to exercise, I don’t have time to make healthy meals or snacks and I don’t even have time to sleep… !

Quite frankly if something is that important to you, you will find a way to fit it in.

If it makes you healthier, feel happier then no matter the struggle or inconvenience, it’s worth it.

I know there are people reading that will hate the above because they think they are already flat out and stretched to their limit.

Yes there are people out there with 5 kids, 3 jobs, single parents and the list goes on. It’s going to be harder for you, of course it is but you know what, you need it even more! You need to do it for yourself.

Everyone has crazy busy days. I’m writing this on a Thursday and yesterday was pretty hectic:

7.15am PT client
8.00am PT client
8.45am Clean studio
9.45am Drive to Meeting
10.45am Arrive home, eat, have 1st coffee (!!), admin & answer emails, receive PT enquiry so on phone for 10mins.
12.00 Drive back to parking spot & race to studio
12.30pm PT client
1.15pm PT client
2.10pm Race back to car & drive to Nursery
*Boys should be collected by 2.30pm… inevitably sometimes am late !
3.10pm Waitrose Pitstop
3.45 – 5.30pm Entertain Kiddos
5.30pm Dinner/Bath/Bed Routine (chaos – parents, you know the score)
7.30pm – 11pm Shower, Dinner, Admin/Social Media…Eat Chocolate.. (raw of course!)… 😉

So how are we going to do this I hear you cry…

You might have to get up super early & meal prep, you might have to workout in the evening when you really don’t feel like it.

If you have a 9-5 office job, go out on your lunch and march about town for an hour. Go to the gym. Take the stairs more than you need to, 2 at a time, do press ups off the desk, drop and do some squats ! The last bit goes for you at home too, replace office desk with kitchen counter 😀

Even if you have to grab 2mins exercise here, there and everywhere to equate to 20mins overall during the day, DO IT.

Workout with the kids, make it fun! I have often done my squats holding a child or shoulder pressed them above my head, yes really!
Involve them in the meal making or snack prep, make it fun, you know ‘ok now we put this in, stir it, into the fridge/oven it goes and we’ll check it later’ <said in OTT cbeebies presenter voice>

Also, you don’t have to be in your full on gorgeous Toned Totty 2 piece to exercise, with your workout gloves on & your sweat towel to hand. If I have to grab 20mins as soon as I walk in the door, still in the clothes I had on from a meeting or appointment then so be it.

Go for a country hike or muddy walk in the woods, some beach fun in the sun, run about, scream & shout, move your body !!

If you have kids and a ‘other half’ tell them you NEED 30mins in the evening to workout or cook, they can do the dinner and bath routine.

SO MANY people are grumpy and down if they don’t get their endorphins fix or have eaten junk all day. It’s not fair on you and it’s not fair on those around you either.

Sometimes I’ll be doing my admin and look at the time, 30mins until I have to race out the door, hmm…
9 times out of 10 I will still do a quick workout and freshen up in that time even though I admittedly feel stupidly rushed but if it’s the only chance I’m going to get, I take it and I feel better for it.

PLAN, plan meals in advance for the week so you are not tempted to knock together something unhealthy when you’re tired or strapped for time because its ‘quick & easy’.
Write it all up & stick it on the fridge first thing Monday morning.

Go to bed earlier instead of watching that last soap. Try not to have the tv on or use your phone & laptop in the last half an hour before you hit the deck and have the bedroom as dark as possible.
So there we go, some examples.

Lets set this CHALLENGE for the coming week.

Every day be mindful of fitting in some exercise or prepping heathy snacks, making healthy meals or getting to bed early where possible.

All of the above every day would be amazing but lets not push our luck, one a day is just great.

Hopefully you’ll get some ideas from the facebook page, I’d love to know how you get on!

Good Luck :)))))
